I shoot with a super old Minolta analog and love it but I recently bought the Nikon D300 slr body and 17-200 vr lens... I love it kore I think! Being from a film only background and being a bit of a stick in the mud about the whole digital thing I was surprised to find out that I love my camera and would almost want to shoot with all the time now haha Im slowly being converted over heehee And its so much easier on my wallet when it comes to my prints... the other day I bought 50 sheets of warm tone Illford paper and it cost me about 140$ I almost had a coronary haha

most of my stuff is here http://dressagefandango.deviantart.com/

    Canon EOS 30D
    Canon 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens
    Canon 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS lens

Canon Powershot sd600 for macros for now.

When I save up, I'll be getting a good 400mm IS lens. Probably the 'L' series.

I shoot with two different cameras :)
I have the one my parents gave me for my 15th birthday. It's a Canon PowerShot S3IS with a great macro lense, but not very good at manual.

The other camera I usually use is a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL with a 300mm lense =3 My dad gave it to me XD

    Sony Cybershot DSC-H50.

I've seen killer pics (much better than anything I could do!) shot with a cam far insuperior to mine. I think 90% of photography is having an eye for good shots and LOTS of practice. I don't have the eye part, but I find that if I shoot 50 pics, I'm bound to get a few decent ones.

Here's a few of my works. No editing. (Lol all I have to edit with is Paint!)

While so many of today's cameras try to do the thinking for photographers, to get really great images you need to know how to control your camera. You also need to know what controls affect what aspects of your photographs.
Composition simply means how your image is put together. The greatest subject in the world will not automatically make a great image. You have to know how (and where) to put that image on film.

I'm pretty much "old school", in that I still prefer to shoot film...3 Ricoh XR-7 and a KR-10 bodies and a lot of Pentax glass.

Looking into a Pentax K2000 DSLR to use for digital stuff, though...it's nothing fancy, but I like no-frill gear, and all my Pentax glass will work with in, particularily my 100mm f4 macro...my "go to" lense. :)

I just bought a Canon Rebel T3. I am a complete novice. The included lens (18-55) doesn't do close ups very well. I can't afford a lot as I intend to spend my money on future geckos :) but I am confused on additional lenses. There's a 100mm lens and also a 100mm-300mm lens. Is there any reason I would want a 100mm lens when I can have the 100-300? Doesn't the 100-300 do the same and more?

I use a canon t1i and a lot of film lenses with adapters. I find that film lenses offer more detail, more cotrol and are much better built. For $10 i got two lenses, Canon FD 24 mm f2.8 and a Canon FD 85mm f1.8. Incredible lenses. I am thinking of selling my 18-200mm sigma lens and buy more film lenses :D And my avatar was taken using the sigma and a canon 430EXII

I have a Nikon D5000 with the standard kit lens 18-55mm and a Sigma 70-300mm telephoto with "macro capabilities". I'm saving up for a real macro lens :) A wide angle would be nice as well.

    Nice camera.
Personally im a canon kinda guy, considering thats what i started off with in the beginning when i started photography, im just more used to the feel and the product, but nikons are very nice cameras as well.
What kind of glass do you have for it? Just a stock? telephotos?
Lol i still am constantly using my stock 18-55, some people think im ridiculous considering what else i have but i love it, lol
