My two crested geckos have been fairly skinny since I got them. I have been trying to get them to gain weight, but it's a little hard. I feed them CGD and crickets. I need help now because they just aren't gaining the weight they need to and they are looking unhealthy and they don't seem to be growing much since I've gotten them back in April (Ink) and May (Van). They have gained some weight, just not nearly enough. They are still practically skin and bones, and I want them to be healthy and lok healthy. Van as of yesterday (and s/he was skinnier... P.S. the left leg is fine, it's just the way she was sitting on my hand) Ink as of yesterday PLEASE help me so I can get them to a healthy weight. It's like they eat just enough to keep themselves alive but not enough to look healthy... like an eating disorder >.<
how often do you feed the crickets to them and how do they act when they eat them? i only feed CGD to mine but at first before i got the diet i was feeding roaches. also do you dust the crickets when they are feed to them?
i usually feed them CGD and supplement with duste crickets every once in a while, maybe 2-4 times a month. they both usually eat the crickets or roaches (whichever is given to them) but Ink refused this time, and I don't think he's eaten anything since then.
glad to report they are both gaining weight again and they both look like they are about to shed, although i'm not exactly sure how to tell this or not haha
Oh wow look at their back legs start feeding them mealworms or waxworms something with a lot of fat and protein in it that should do the trick
mealworms and waxworms constipate them... Ink was skinny because he had parasites and passed away, and Van is perfectly fine now, without having to be fed wax worms or mealworms. you should notice these are from last year... this one is from august.
