    That's so strange....

Paper towel is good :) I also have divided it up into smaller containers so if one starts to go bad it doesn't ALL go bad... Working out pretty well so far! :) Thanks!

Well..... I talked to Doug today about one of my females. She stopped eating, but isn't showing any signs of ill health. Doug said "awwww", and I said "what now?"o_O . Seriously, he said i need to deworm her give her a antibio, probio, Pedialyte, & baby food. WTH did i get in to with these leezards. Regimen is Safe-guard(fenbendazole)10%suspension 1/10 of 1cc per 100grams of body weight, mixed w/ 1cc pedalyte, one time followed up by one more dose 10-14 days after first dose, 1/10 Baytrol 1cc pedialyte in the morning.Followed at night by Ornabac (probiotic), the amount of powder is hard to measure so, he said a good measurement would be approx 1/2 the size of a pencil eraser(my uro is down to 22gr.) Mixed in to 1cc of baby food. The way i administer this is w/ a 3cc syringe attached to a very thin silicone tube. (y) P.S he also said you should deworm them 1-2x a year. The safe-guard i purchased was from Inter Mountain Farmers (IFA) I'm tired of typing:sleep: if u want a little more info call me.8013011323

YIKES.... I haven't heard of this at all! I just thought it was weird it was the same nail on each back foot and it has been like that for as long as I can remember. Let me know how clipping it goes!

Whhhhaaaat? deworm them once or twice a year??? Oh darn :( I've never had to deworm ANY of my reptiles... ever! That's so weird. I wonder how they get them? I know other reptiles can get worms from farmed crickets and such sometimes but I've so far been lucky (knock on wood!) I hope she gets better soon and none of the others give you any problems. Are you going to deworm the others just in case?

Hm.... And I've also never clipped any of my reptile's nails.... My dog's I clip all the time (and she runs and hides and hates it but you gotta do what you gotta do! Lol). I guess I should stop at the petstore on my way home and pick up a much smaller nail clipper, the one I have is huge! My once concern is my little guy not staying still... I have no idea how I'm going to do this  He's going to hate me :(

Doug told me that they get them naturally from the greens:eek: ,makes you feel good about eating salads(y) He also said that they are always in their gut , it's when they don't properly digest their food the worms get out of balance. P.S the little girl is doing great.:D Thanks DFF (Doug) (y)

So I thought the spring mix wasn't good for the uros because of all the regular lettuce in them (not enought nutrients?)? But I see some of you are using it. Is this the general consensus that it's okay to use? It would be much easier for me to get and store if I got the plastic bins of spring mix. Right now all my guy will eat is turnip greens.

I, too, have a picky one who won't eat anything if it has the calcium powder on it. I'm getting a water bottle to mix it in and then spray on to see if this works better. I've tried mixing the powder in water and just dripping it onto the greens, but he doesn't eat that either.

For the last few weeks, he hasn't eaten much of anything. Don't know what to do. I'm replacing his UVB bulb and planning to clean his tank well to see if that helps some.

Well......looks like you found this thread. I just posted in your other thread about helping you find this one:/ The spring mix us good because of the variety of lettuce. It does have spinach but not enough to harm them. You'll want to add one full head of endive to the spring mix, this is how we lesson the leaf lettuce content & add good leaf veggies. You then add othe odd greens, ie. green beans, peas, mustard greens, bok choy, ect.feel free to call me if you want. Just message me on my profile, I'll give you my # Jason:)

Hm, the spring mix I get (Dole) has endive in it... I also get an "artisan blend" from Costco... when my Uro was eating a ton (seems like he ate the most during August and September) I was getting the big container from Costco and it lasts over 2 weeks in the fridge, now I'm back to getting the Dole spring mix from Stop and Shop...

The spring mix i get is Earth Blend all organic. They sell it@Costco most of the time, this brand has different blends which is nice to mix the blends offered to the picky guys:/ Even if the blend has endive in it you should still mix it with more endive so it is around a 50\50 blend. Deer Fern Farms now has a dusting made by Rapashy super foods he takked to the formulator him self about what his needs are & he created it for DFF. Check it out, I'm ordering it next week:) My uros still don't like the calcium dusting Miner-All.This stuff will replace the Miner -All that he got rid of.

Hm, are you talking about the Repashy Superfoods SuperVeggie? Or something new coming out for Uri's specifically?
The Superveggie looks pretty awesome... I think I actually have it already, lol. If I see something new at the shows I usually pick it up and try it, see how my uri likes it (or doesn't(n) )
Yup, just looked at my pic on the 1st page, apparently I do have it, lol. I'll have to try just that on his lettuce and see how it goes :)

I also use the Costco spring mix. Douglas Dix gave me the suggestion of dusting Muzori tortoise pellet some years back. I've done that for over 5 years now. As long as my Uro has Endive, Bok Choy, and water soaked lentils she's happy and will try other foods. She fat, active, and looks healthy as a horse.

Doug has great results using this blend. He no longer uses Miner-All, due to some changes to there formula. Like my uros his did not like it & would not eat the food it was on.
