I am also in the uk and i am getting intrested in these little guys i like the green ones and how they always seem to be running about in the vivs at the pet shops, but i have just been readin threw old posts and saw u put in one that it is hard to get hold of CB ones here in the uk, I didnt even know we had wild ones running around here so asumed they are all CB, now for a question how can tell if they are CB or not even if the pet shop says they are is there away of telling, or do u know of anyone that sells CB ones please, i wont be getting any for a bit cos im in the prosses of building a shelving unit with vivs in it aswell as shelves for displays, any info would be great meny thnx!!! and hopfully someone can change the way we get our anoles over here!!! Hey kobi. Most of the petstores in the uk, well the ones i know of, ship in anoles in large quantities from the US, or get them from their suppliers who have done so, that's why the price of them are pretty cheap. My two were £6 each. You could ask the pet store if they can get any captive bred ones in, but they may just say theirs are. I guess it just wouldn't pay to breed them. The amount of time and care the babies would need, and just for £5-10 i suppose they don't think it is worth it. I disagree totally 100% though. Im with you, CB all the way lol! Where abouts are you in the UK? I'll try and get some info for you on captive bred anoles, but if not i'll at least try and point you in the right direction of a pet store that sells them! Luke
Thanks for the reply i aprecait that, I spose if u look at it the way u just have i guess it wouldnt do any justice to breed them really unless they do it for the welfar of the animal and the pet trade and keepers alike, im in west yorkshire and there is three very good petstorse i use here and they are the only ones i use really (altho i do go to diffrant ones) two of these have anoles in but really rare and im sure they are priced between £10 - £20 whitch i would pay if i knew they was CB, two shops i can reley on for sure to tell me where theres came from and they would bend over backwords for anyone wanting anything there, one of them even sell some meercats and marmasets and things u wouldnt expect to see in a petshop but that one is a great shop and they breed them kinda animals there selfs (boy would i love a marmaset), i will might look into getting a cpl of anoles once i have built what im wanting to build to house all of my reptiles and herps, and hopfully one day the world change to only haveing CB animales for sale as pets and come down hard on the people that brake that rule just to make a quick quid or two!!! if u could post pics of ur set up that would be cool thnx!!! my spelling is crap but hopfully u will understand what im saying lol!!! once again thnx for the reply and the info u gave CB all the way
CB all the way.. i love it I'll try and get some pics of my set-up tommorow if that's ok? all the lighting is on a timer and has just gone off and i don't want to disturb them lol. yeah that would be great thnx dnt want them little guys getting stressed or anything now do we. At the moment i have 2.1.0 beardies well hopfully a female anyways lol 1.1.0 whites tree frogs from what i can tell one calls a lot and the other is shtum and 0.0.2 royal pythons along with 2.1.0 dogs and 4.2.0 cats lol but hopfully my collection will grow and my skills will gorw with them, as i have just aplide for a animale care course at the uni down the road aswell. the marmosets re going for 1500 a pair and 800 eatch they dnt have them in all the time but heard they have 3 or 4 babies a year per female wowser ( boy would i love one ). I aint working on a reptile room just a wall unit that will have two vivs for beardies (not housed together) and then if i go for a cpl of anoles they will have a house in there two, its just to make room in my livein room as i have got 4 4ft by 2ft vivs in there aswell as the exo terra the frogs are kept in then the tv and computer i need more room ( boy would i love to win the lotto ) so its going to have display shelfs for the mrs ornimants and the tv will be on there aswell as two/three or more vivs lol!!! I got the idear off of something i saw on ebay for sale but the vivs wasnt big enough for me and it was too far to travle!!! cnt seem to find it to show u now, but once i have built mine be sure to watch out for pics!!! Hehe, winning the lotto wud b gr8! I would just LOVE an iggy! Sounds like a good project you got going on there! If you need any tips or advice or anything, the enclosures forum is great on this site! Like i said, i'll post some pics of my anoles tonight!
yeah winning the lotto would be great what i could do with that and would lurv to do with that is unbeliveable.
