I have seen this before as well... I dont think it is real... Can this be a real snake. I know the length can be real no prob i have a 15 foot burm that is only 3 years old... but can they really have that many teeth that are that long

Yes. African Rocks have very long, sharp, rear-curved teeth.

it's possible it's an amethystine...i also didnt think rock pythons got that big...i know ame's can get 26 feet though

I doubt very much weather it is a Scrub (or Amethystine) Python... Just the scales alone look very different to any Scrubbie I have ever seen.



I have also been told that this pic, was staged... although it is a real python apparently (but this is just what i was told) the python was already dead and it was placed on the fence after death for the photo... either way it an amazing python and certainly not one i would like to run into.

It was most likely fake because the fence would have been thrashed... The wires and everything would have been crushed by such a massive amount of jaw strength.

It's definitely not a Scrub..the pattern, coloration, head are nothing alike. Afrocs average around 18-20 feet..some maxing out around the 25 mark..so they do get that big

Whether staged or not..still gives you a good idea what happens at the business end of a large python

pogona that's not true at all...pythons and snakes in general dont have a very high amount of crushing force with their jaws. Their real strength is unleashing full force into a victim and then curling around it..but their jaws arent amazingly strong.

not to mention the fact that that snakes dont really "thrash" their victims with their teeth, just bite on and coil around them and crush em...so the wires probly wouldnt be all thrashed up

ive seen the picture a million times but it's always insane. most websites seemed to assume it was an anaconda probably just because they saw the anaconda movie and dont know anything else. it sucks that it died.

wow.....like the size of the anaconda in that movie. lol. that is a big snake, definaly a great pred, what happened to that snake though? what did the farmer do to it?

Wow i saw one of those at a pet store once. He mustive been a baby though. Was about from your elbow to your fingers long. Hmmmm better hope that petstore was wrong.

Well the pic is definitely real. And it IS an African Rock. It's just the story that is a bit shakey.

I always hate the fact they kill the animal. same with sharks, take it far away from the far and leave it be. but they skinned it.

well they didn't kill the snake, it got trapped and died, but it wasn;t like they went out after it, though if they found it they would have killed it for eating sheep. its because so many humans believe we have a right to own this plane tand all on it, while we don't we have a right to coexist with animals. Take away our technology and we are almost at the bottome of the foodchain i bet,.

Yep sure are. Animals have been here way longer and know more about this world than what we give them credit. And maybe they didn't create technology because they knew what would happen......
