So right now i have my cage outside and ants seem to be getting in the cage, thru the screened top

will fire ants harm a Tokay? I figure its something else for him to eat.

If i need to get rid of them, what do i do? don t think amdro would be good

Um yea duh ants will not be good for really any reptile or amphibian. I have heard oof them eating themselves out of a stomach!!! Get a smaller screened top or make your own.

just get a smaller meshed screen or buy some fine mesh screen at a hardware store and make one.

no feeder insect can actually eat their way out of your pet's stomach - it's an old wive's tale. but you are right that ants are not good - they can bite your herp on the *outside* of his body which can be just as bad as if they bit him on the *inside*.

do NOT use any chemicals around your herps (like ant-killer, for example), you must get rid of the ants using only hot water or chlorhexidine (novalsan) -anything else will kill your gecko, too (or make him very sick).

p.s. try not to use the word 'duh', BigZ - some things may be obvious to you, but not to others
