Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and wanted to start researching an ackie monitor as a possible part of the family. I was wondering a couple things. Firstly, can they be housed in a fish tank if I properly cover the top. If so could you recommend how? I have a 56 gallon tank I'm wondering if it be appropriate to start with? Also I have a 250 watt heat lamb that seem be able to reach the high basking temps they need Or would I be better off with two smaller lights and if so why?lastly what should I expect when I first get him home and have in the tank? How long before he really begins to acclimate? Thanks a lot for your help guys!
