So is it Green Tree Python or Emerald Tree boa, that you are trying to decide upon? I think the Boa has stricter husbandry issues.

    Chondros are pythons.
Emerald Tree Boas and Green Tree Pythons both have very demanding care requirements and are not a wise choice as a first snake or for someone new to snakes. The caging has special demands as far as finding a happy medium between ventilation and high humidity while trying to maintain proper temps. Both snakes also stress easily and do not tolerate handling. Most often they do not show the stress until it's too late and they have started regurging or stop eating all together. Another problem is that most of the GTPs and ETBs in the price range for new keepers are WC or farm bred fresh imports both of which are prone to parasites, stress, and severe dehydration during the import process. Buying one of these WC snakes is basically putting yourself behind the eight ball. If you still insist on having one of them and you are in Portsmouth there arent any pet shops that I am aware of that would have any high quality GTP or ETBs suitable as a strong starter. Animal Jungle and Pet Paradise here in VB are good, but be careful and make sure the you purchase a captive bred AND born snake!
A snake to consider that is partially arboreal, reasonable in size, easier to care for, typically docile, and almost always a great eater look for an Iran Jaya Carpet Python.

27.99? That would be for a wild caught, right?
