Is it normal for some brown anoles to have a sail, or ridge, running down there back? I have some around the house that have an almost 1/4" tall "sail" running from the back of their head tapering to their tail. I had never seen this before and thought it quire weird. The sail on their back reminds me of a dimetrodon.
Yep, that's perfectly normal. The crest is more prominent on males, but some females may have a slight hump to their back. And you're right, it does make them look like little dinosaurs!
