Hi guys, im building a tank for some green anoles. It's going to be 2'Wide,2'Long,4'Tall. I made it these dimensions so i could fit a live plant or two in it. That way the humidity and everything should be fine. The bottom of the tank is going to have some repti bark on it. The tanks frame is going to have four four beams going up the four corners and the two box frames on the top and bottom. The whole side is going to be covered with real fine screening. Its a left over roll of pet screening. It's real fine mesh and soft. I know the whole 1 anole=10 gallons rule pretty well but im having trouble figuring out the correct amount of anoles for my tank... Could any of you guys help me figure it out? thanx...
there is no way that a 2'x2'x4' is 119gl i mean i just checked it; but logically it doesnt make sense that tank isnt even as tall as a person! maybe its the 2'wide but im just trying think about the size- cuz 2feet and 4 feet isnt that big.. i dont think.. maybe it is and my brain is just messed up. im gonna go check it again on a different site EDIT: ooook well im just stupid. i did the math myself and it still came up to be 119.. and wow what a tank!!! now im gonna go double check the dimentions on my tank because i thought it was 4'x1.5'x3' but now i know its not because mine is only a 46long bowfront..... i need to do some thinking excercises now i feel dumb
ya you should post up some pictures, i don't have any anoles but i figured "hey there cool so may as well read about them" i wish had the money to make a tank that big please post pics
o nobody anwsered his question, so i will, the general rule is 10 gallons for one gren anole, so you could fir 12 in there, i guess that nobody anwsered you because they were drooling over your tank!
However, there is no way i'd put 12 anoles in that tank.. I'd say 4-6 max.. but you need to quarantine to make sure that any spread of diseases etc doesn't occur.
