I handle my corn every day if I have the time, even if it's only for 5 minutes, just to keep her constantly used to coming out. Of course I've also had her since may. When I first got her I only handled her twice a week for a few minutes at a time because I wanted her to get used to me. But just try not to do it more than once a day. Just as long as they're not digesting, or cranky during shed (some refuse to be sociable during this time) then go ahead and start taking her/him out. Since it's young and likely to be skiddish I would only start with 5 minutes at most untill it stops trying to jump out of your hand, and oh it will, lol.
wow... those are some beautiful corn snakes heres a couple of pics of mine he is about 1 1/2 yrs old.
Thought I would post a few of mine. I have ten different babies (mostly different morphs) but I dont wanna cloud up the thread. Anyway, here are 2 of my keepers Kala, my first corn ever- she is 3 now Zaphod, one of my '07 hatchlings
Everyone has such beautiful snakes! I'm determined to get some good pics of my anery as I only have rubbish phoen pics now that just don't do him justice! Although I do have one of him wrapped around my bfs glasses... while he's still wearing them, lol. This thread just makes me want to get a whole rainbow of corns, they are so stunning!
Yay another charcoal! I see your's has a normal pattern while mine is all abberant. Nice Big ghost, looks a lot like an regular Anery though, but sometimes it's hard to tell. And as my snake just shed, recent pictures:
thx deb i realy like ure okeetee. hes got some nice dark crimson colors. do u have any Kistachie corns?
So, I took my corn out today for a photoshoot and a bite to eat for his troubles and I find him in blue! He seems to have had a growth spurt because I seem to remember him shedding about a month ago! Here he is anyway... Jeremy my lovely Anery He looks really brown with earthy tones here, but it's just the shed trying to fool you. The only other pic I have of him at his current size (a full 80cm as I measured today) is me pretending to eat him because he is such a juicy sausage of a snake, lol. Don't worry, no reptiles were harmed in the making of this photo.
Anyone else still have a reallly hard time telling the difference between Anery's and Charcoals? I know I do hehe. Nice looking snake, funny picture.
I do as well, my charcoal has distinct blueish, purplish, and pinkish tones. Not visible in my photos, but easily seen up close.
Here is my new corn, he is about 4 months old I believe. He is a male, named Tyrus. http://img501.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hpim0060wi1.jpg http://img382.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hpim0063hl6.jpg
Ria, You said your corn is 80cm, is that about 6 feet? I think I did the math right... It looks to small to be 6 feet...
