In Europe? Good question, where would you say in Europe? Maybe in Spain, maybe in Turkey. Might be something worth knowing, you never know when it might be useful in a pub quiz.

My male, 2 year old Yemen Chameleon (Veiled) died of Septicemia about 2 months ago. Nice to know there are more out there ;)

Why did you post a long list of chameleon species then?

Here are some good sites with lists of chameleons that are actually useful. Or, at least interesting.

    www.adcham.com
    www.chameleonnews.com
    http://www.chameleoncrazy.com/species.php

Royal.. the common chameleon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamaeleo_chamaeleon) is the only species of chameleon that lives in Europe. With that one exception, they all live in Africa, the Middle East, or Madagascar. Hawaii hosts a large number of Jackson's, but they were introduced to the islands in the 70's. I hear there are colonies of veileds living in the wilds of Florida as well, also introduced by humans.

Yeah, florida is kind of having a problem with the "wild" veileds. one of the main reasons why HR669 popped up.

I'm currently holidaying in Bermuda and working towards my PADI Open Water. And there are 3 species of Lizards here all non-native and I've yet to have asked anyone if they are a problem, they are everywhere... All introduced to reduce the fly population, and with the lack of predators they've done rather well.

Also at Original Poster, no is the wrong use for the word you mean Know. :)

He was just trying to impress us.. or something. Basically, posting pretty much useless information in the hopes of drumming up business for his forum. It has generated an interesting thread, though, so there is that.
