I am looking into buying a new camera, but I am having trouble finding the right one for me. I am looking for a beginner DSLR camera. Probably something that doesn't have too many megapixels, and that has a decent sized LCD. I have a price range of about $250 to $400, but I will go up to $500 if I have to. Do you guys have any cameras you would recommend, and do you know of any place to get them at a discount?

Well, mine(or my dad's technically)is a Canon Powershot SX130 IS and it's pretty nice. It isn't completely considered pro, but it's a really good bridge between a regular and pro. It was a gift and isn't that much from what I've seen online. It focuses really well and has multiple settings-also takes video of course. It seems the price has went down some now and it's only in the $100-200 range. There are some nice accesories you can get for it too :) It has pretty great zoom also.

*I just realized you wanted a DSLR(which mine isn't), but it's still a nice camera :p I would like a DSLR too someday, since they're so nice and they are pro. Most I see are pretty expensive though
