    great deal.
The lights may or may not be useful. It matters what they are. definitely the night light is not needed.
The log shelter is not needed if you put it on the ground.
The water dish is not going to be used.

I agree. The water dish *may* be useful, but thats only if it's a shallow one, and could be used if you are having problems with humidity, otherwise it's not necessary. Anoles drink the droplets from the leaves and foilage etc, as they aren't very good at recognising standing water.

Yep, went and picked it up today. its pretty good shape just needed a little cleaning. How do you mean the lights might or might not not be useful?? Can't I use the clamp lamps and just change the light bulbs to a basking light bulb? As for the strip light I plant to buy a Exo-terra light strip... Yeah I wasnt planning on using the log shelter and water dish. Thanks for the replies. P.S. Sorry its a 50 gal. (5 gals off) 8)

Oh, yeah of course you can reuse the clamp lamps. I meant the bulbs. The clamp lamps are usually 10 - 20 dollars each so you saved there too.
Get us pics when you have it all set up.

It matters. How many anoles are you getting. IT wouldn't hurt to have an extra one just in case it doesnt feel like staying there all day. I mwself have two basking spots.

Am I correct in saying that you are still planning on putting anoles in the tank?

ok...so is that what you are putting anoles in? if you decide to go with anoles, you have to make some changes to that tank. first, anoles are arboreal lizards, which means they need more vertical space instead of horizontal. but the tank will still work as long as they have lots of plants and things to climb on. to make the perfect habitat for an anoles, you can sit the tank upright, and get a certain metal screen to cover it. that is actually what i am doing for my anoles. keep in mind that by doing that, you have to find a way to attatch their UVB light to the screen, because UVB does not penetrate glass. for more info, pm me.

i am only basing that on the pics you posted in the first page...the four or five pics with just a hide, and a water dish...

I would disagree with putting a 55 gallon tank on its side. Glass cages can in fact break just from being kept like that. Anoles should be fine with the tank like it is.

well...i mean yes a 55 gal. on its end would most likely break, i know that...believe me i had a 50gal do that...i was very happy though that all my anoles were at that moment in smaller tanks being quarantined....i was just trying to make a point....

no, they were all in smaller exo-terra tanks being quarantined while i was setting up the large tank...it was weird because i have a habit of leaveing the tank setup for two weeks before i will put the lizards back in it (when it is a new tank, new substtrate, new everything) to get the heat up, and everything set to exactly where i want in...it collapsed on the 9th day...so it was all ok.
