It took me a few weeks... the one im building now I'll docment it... step by step LOL With a video tape... LOL
Wooooooo! Man those are incredable! I vote for the second one as my favorite. But they are all unreal. I guess I have some more practicing to do.
freky_pete- do u make a model before u create the actually fake rock? i drew a layout but then made a 3d model from posterboard and i'm glad that i did bc i had to change the drawn layout bc of floor space.
whats AUTO cad? do u put the back piece of the enclosure all the way to the top or what? can u post pics of ur enclosures?
If u can wait.. im gona video tape the whole process.. since people ask alot about how to make them.. im starting today or tommrow
aslso Auto Cad is a Desin program that makes blue prints and stuff... I learnt how to use it in High school
ah... well ive already started mine well the layout and design and everything. i was just curious as to how high ur making urs in relation to the height of the tank.
Two questions: 1. What section of the hardware store can you find polystyrene in? 2. Has anyone tried making individual rocks and then glueing them together for a more natural look? I am thinking of making hides that look like rock piles.
insulation probably.. they sell them in large sheets or smaller cut up ones. i bout the smaller ones theyre like 4ft by 18inches or so and u get like 5 o 6 pieces. i've read that u can do that do. its better than putting real rocks in there becasue if it falls it wont hurt or do as much damage
I have a few rocks in my enclosure and I am thinking of gluing them together with marine or aquarium silicone. I was wondering if anyone else had done this. Cleaning would be the only problem I could see with it. I am also going to make some fake rocks as a hide/basking area as well.
are we talking about the pink and blue HIGH DENSITY stuff, or the everyday stuff that they pack stereo's and stuff with. let me know, because i tried it using white styrofoam and it turned out really ugly
