My ball python is starting to shed. his eyes are cloudy and his belly is changing color. Is it ok to feed him even though he is shedding?

i would just wait until after the shed. most snakes dont eat when they are about to shed.

There is nothing that will hurt the animal, feeding the snake in shed. It comes down to whether the animal will take the food when it's eyes are not seeing well. Many will not. I have some snakes that will eat up until the day they lose their skin, and others that will not touch food even before I know they are going to be shedding. One thing I would definitely not try is leaving live food in with a snake that I feel might not eat. On a good day there is always a chance the snake could get bitten. With poor eyesight that chance is even higher.

It never hurts to let the snake wait it out. It will not be any worse for the wear waiting a week or so.
