Hi, I've just bought a bearded dragon, he's July hatch, so that would make him 6 months old. Approximately 8 inches, although I have never measured him. This morning when I fed him, he ate about 9 locus, I was recommend to feed him locus rather than crickets. However, when I fed him again this evening, he only ate around 3 locus.

Also since this morning there has been noteable shedding of his skin around his head, no where else though. I thought he might be dehydrated so i turned the temperature of the tank down slightly and dripped some water onto his head and around his body.

    Is this normal for beardies?

If he's shedding that's fine and the temperature shouldn't be turned down, if you think he's dehydrated just soak him for 15 minutes with warm water. You could soak him once a day and mist him daily. Another thing, I would switch to giving him crickets. You could get some caresheets from this website that could really be helpful to you.

This box of feed is almost finished, once it is I will buy crickets. Also he ain't a rather large locus yesterday. Do you think that might have anything to do with his lack of eating? It was probably bigger than he should have eaten.
