I often wondered that - as I've talked about locusts on other forums before and people thought I meant grasshoppers. A shame really because (so I've read somewhere) they are very nutritious - and all the lizard types I've ever had prefer them to crickets. I guess it could be because they're a nice bright yellow and jump around a lot. And for keeping them, they have the added advantage of no smell So living in the UK does have some advantages despite the (usually) crappy weather. But on a consolatory note - we seem to be unable to easily get roaches over here - and certainly not of the wide variety you guys in the US can.
i have never found a pet shop in the uk that sells reptiles shame really. i also hate the crappy weather its all the time rain rain rain.
Yeah, alot of the roaches are great for monitors. I know mine love them. I don't find alot of them, but my lizards all love cicadas. I wonder if you could order locusts from the UK and get them shipped 2nd day to the US.?
I might have to move to Amsterdam for more than one reason then. lol Oh and spike, I think you can get 200 or 500¿ roaches for around $100. Once you buy them you should never have to buy anymore. They breed unlike anything I have ever seen before. http://www.nyworms.com/roaches.htm
