Have you had a read of the many articles in the knowledgebase? Also, even though you're still searching to find playsand, I would ditch the calci-sand now, and stick to paper towels or carpet until you can find it.
i do not have the dragon yet. also i heard the carpet unravels. that there are piece that come out of it causing problems.
We've been using the reptile carpet for over 2 years. During that time, we've had over 100 dragons through this house (we currently have 20), and we've yet to see the carpet unravel Regular carpeting for your living room floor, yeah, that'll unravel. Reptile carpet, specifically designed for being stomped on by claws all day, does not unravel.
I keep all young reptiles on repticarpet. it works great. not the astro turff though, Beardies tend to confuse it for real grass, and try to eat it. bearded dragons love all kinds of greens, fruits, and crickets, worms, but they don't seem to care for pinkies too much. the one thing you really need to remember about bearded tragons is tht they are fairly large reptiles, and need a lot of space.
