    Hi,

We're new to this whole thing with reptiles. Recently rescued 2 brown anoles from plants coming into our warehouse in SW Ontario (coming from S Florida). The female (Hobo), we've had almost 3 weeks and she laid an egg on Sunday morning. :( The egg didn't make it, but looking at some of the posts here I'm wondering if another could be coming a lot sooner than 2 or 3 weeks? She is about 4 3/4 to 5 inches long.
The male (Booly) was found just yesterday and seems to be doing well. He ate 4 small crickets so far today. No signs of dehydration or anything.
There was a third (Tramp), but she didn't make it. :) Had her for 10 days, but due to lack of info or proper info, she wasn't getting the right food. We were just going to get pinheads when she died. She was only 2 inches long.
Any info on anything to do with brown anole care or how to handle any more eggs from Hobo would be greatly appreciated. We're learning quick, but still a long way to go! Thanks

We had a total of about 16 dropped last year from one female, and about another 10 or so from another female... most of which hatched out just fine.

They do usually lay their eggs in pairs, and they're fairly regular with dropping them, so fingers crossed you should have some more soon :)

Their care is pretty much the same as for greens, except they are more prolific, and so a lot easier to breed in general.

Have a look through the knowledgebase here (the link's over on the left) for the anole section. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or in the FAQs section :)

Congratulations on your new lil additions to the family, and welcome to the wonderful world of herps! :)
