I miss you Blackie

    Blackie was a wonderful female platyfish. She once jumped into the sink and spent at least 8 minutes there, drying out, till my mom found her, barely breathing. She popped her back into the water, and Blackie left most of her skin and big chunks of her fins and tail stuck to the sink. Poor thing! Her eyes would look at me as if to say, "Help me!" and all I could do was add some betta antibiotics to her water.

    I asked around, and was told I should put her into the freezer in a bowl of ice cubes. I couldn't do that, not after the way she'd looked at me, not after how hard she was trying to survive!
    Amazingly, she made it! She lived to swim around in the big 28 gallon which we got not long after she recovered. Fitting reward! And she really could swim-her fins and skin grew back! :eek: But three months later, an ammonia spike did her in. It broke my heart. That was half a year ago and I still cry when I think about it. RIP Blackie :) I miss you precious girl!
