iggy dropped his tail

    my 5 month old iggy dropped his tail yesterday i need to know what to do ive been putting iodine on it and tripple antibiotic ointment i was also wondering if it will grow back

    The tail should grow back, it'll be slow and won't look exactly the same. Both my iguanas came with tails that were in the process of regrowing.

    For me, a more concerning issue would be what caused your iguana to drop its tail? This tends to only be the result of severe trauma (i.e - bite from another lizard, severely rough handling) or as a sign of underlying health problems. If no trauma caused the tail drop then a thorough review of your husbandry and your iggies overall health needs to be done.
