I was looking around on Petfinder.com and found a listing for a crocodile monitor, in Texas. And what I want to know is if it's legal to own one. Also, are there any other monitors that are black with yellow spots? This lizard has the right coloration but it's head doesn't look right to me, but maybe I'm just imagining it.

    Thanks for your help.

Ornate nile monitors, Black-Yellow tree monitor, asian water monitor, and a couple more. all of them except for the black-yellow tree moitor get 6ft or more.
this might help you find out if Croc monitors are illegal in Michigan (im guessing thats were you live by looking at your location) http://www.michigan.gov/hal/0,1607,7-160-1...52465--,00.html

EDIT: if you look at the image of the monitor, you can see its broad head that distinguishes the croc monitor from others

Have you ever seen a crocodile monitor in real life? They are amazing and extremely active. At least the one's that i have seen.
