Hia, I am a young owner of two hermanns tortoise. In the future I would be very interseted in breeding all sorts of tortoises. I was just wondering though...... Is it safe to keep more than one species of tortoise?
Of course I will not keep different species in the same table-top viv. I am wondering if some tortoises would have affects on other tortoises health! PLEASE HELP!

sure it can be done. But you should keep in mind that many species of torts get very very large, eat a lot, need lots of room to roam and poop a lot. It could quickly turn into a lot of work and money. I have heard of someone who sanatizes her shoes, hands and feet when walking from one outdoor pen (of one species) to another. A book that talks about breeding multiple species is acutally Turtles and Tortoises for Dummies
