Just wondering, what you guys used to gutload your crickest with. I usually use mixed veggies (carrots, corn, sweet potato, tomato, collard greens, sweet peppers) and occasionally gutload with calcium fortified Cricket feed, and Cricket quencher by 'Flukers'. Now that i have a baby Cham with high calcium needs due to his rate of growth, i think i gonna feed my crickets on those two feeds i just mentioned, exclusively, for a while. It's funny too, cause my last Veiled Cham used to lick up the cricket feed that i had in a very shallow container (i let my crickets run free range in the enclosure, and just place the gutloading foods on a small dish for them to eat at their leisure), as if he liked it!
i use orange cube and purina cricket chow.. and also fresh fruits and veggies.. and even total brand cereal. I dont really use the water gel stuff that much..
swapped out the 5.0 13 watt coil for a 10.0 13 watt coil... 5" from bulb (basking spot) through screen.. reading was 58 (wow) 5" unfiltered.. reading was 87 (wow). that is a lot more than i expected from a 13 watt bulb. so then i swapped the 10.0 for a new 5.0 13 watt and got the following readings unfiltered at 5" 50 filtered through the screen cage 33 thats a huge difference from my "burned in" 13 watt 5.0.
My little guy's settled into his home quite nicely. He's going thru 24 medium sized crickets daily..i can't keep up with him!
