Hi, I'm a new mom to an anole , that my son came home from school with and I need help :? . I've read all the forms and learned some great stuff but no one has talked about just getting started . I don't know what kind of soil to put in her tank, what size tank would be best , are tree limbs okay in the tank, if so what kind? should I make a small pond in the tank if so how big? and last question what type of food does she eat besides crikets. I would really like some help, this is the first pet that my son has ever owned. Thank you all for your help and input.
I use ecoearth soil and have a 35 gallon tank for 4 anoles. They like to climb so they need room to do so. They will not drink out of a bowl and need to be misted 2-3 times a day. You need to have a uvb light and to be dusting the crickets with calcium. My anoles will not eat anything but crickets. Some people have gotten theirs to eat some mealworms- I think mealies are a bit big for anoles myself. No pond is needed. They also need a heat source.
thank you cheriT3719 and freaky pete, I just want this to be a good experance for both my son and myself. I'd hate to guess and then pay big for my mistake. if there is anything else you feel i should learn please know that your input is more then welcome.
