I wouldn't say "hard" to look after but they require specific care for them to not only survive but thrive because if their needs arn't met many problems can occur. Take a look at this site it's very useful.. http://www.martinsreptiles.co.uk/ukchams/c...s_caresheet.htm and this one... http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/ And if possible, try heading over to this forum i'm at http://www.chameleonforums.com/ (my names tryme over there)
And actully i have already printed off the caresheet from the first web site you have me...it is really usefull....study it every night
I have two leopard gecko's which are alot easier to care for because they allow mistakes a lot more than chams do but both are very rewarding to care for and interesting to study. Just make sure you know what you are getting into before you purchase your cham! good luck
Thanks i know what i am getting into....the thing i worry about most is i have only had a crested gecko and some firebelly newts but i am worried that i will not know how to work with the heat lamps.I know how to tell the tempature and would get a thermostat.

Well basically you need a UV TUBE not compact bulb. Repti sun 5.0 is the most recomended althought, if you get a reptarium go with the 10.0 and keep it on the outside of your enclosure. The only other light you need can be a normal house bulb around 40-60W to obtain the right temps. No heat mat etc is needed aslong as your house doesn't get to cold at night.
