Thanks for all of your suggestions, everyone! I have since removed the coconut substrate and replaced it with a terrarium liner. But the little guy is still ill and not eating. I do have his lights on a timer (14 on, 10 off).

If his problem is an impaction, what the heck do you do? Force feeding him hasn't done much good. I think he is fairly hydrated, as I have seen him lick the drops off his leaves and hammock. But he hasn't eaten in so long! He is very weak and has trouble moving around. I've increased the humidity in the tank, too, but it hasn't seemed to have helped matters.

I guess I'll have to call the vet again...I'm really at a loss. Can yo save an impacted anole?

I would get Norbert to a vet straight away. You've described a good set-up and conditions etc, so i think a visit to the vet is the only way. Let us know how it goes, Good luck, Luke.

yes, if you really have done everything you say you have and it is all that way (not saying you are not, just saying) then he probably has an impaction and needs to go to the vet straight away. depending on how long he is sick he may be helped, but may have to be put down...hopefully he will be ok, maybe it is just something small, you never know with animals because they cant tell us what is wrong

Not to sound like the pessimist, but if it does end up having impaction, then there might be little chance of it coming through. any surgury on a small reptile is expensive.

I just want to reliterate what plmarsq8 said, about the costs. Be aware of the costs that could come about. On a small reptile like an anole, the surger is going to be a delicate one, and it will most probably cost you an arm and a leg. But i'm sure your little anole is worth it. Good luck, keep us upto date on the progress, Luke.
