I know I think I will wait a bit. Can I just say that your beardie is one of the largest I've ever seen. I know a couple of people with beardies weighing 300 but 450 i think that might be a bit on the over weight size
Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) as they are so small, i would offer some more locusts, and mabye some supers to build up some weight, i feed 4-5 locusts daily, and 5-6 supers every 2 days, and offer veggies dialy. i dont like crix personally, so i stick to locusts... how old is your UVB light? also how close can they get to the UVB? How hot is yoru basking spot? how are you measuring it?
I've had a temperature probe. The temps are 37 hot end and cool end gets to about 30 I think lower. My UVs are coming up to be renewed (5 months) its about 6 inches off the bottom
Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) nope, she isnt overweight... she is just a big girl. heres a quote from Cheri, from one of my threads in the photo topics. as you can see from this, all the beardies from the line that we think she may be related to are very big dragons. she aint overweight... just a big girl
Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) 37C is around 98F, that is too low. the temps need to be up around 105F, around 40-41C. the cool end is about right, but the hot end needs to be warmer.
RE: Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) I'm going to try something new here is a quick Vid to show you my Beardie hes the Male.
RE: Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) hehe, i don't think he likes the camera! his beard is going black!
RE: Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) Yep he hates it. Once when I tried to do a eye shot he bit the camera
They are definately too small to be bred from, and selling the babies at a week old is way too young, we dont sell ours till at least 8 weeks old to make sure they are eating and healthy, the shop owner should not be taking them so young.
i agree, they should not be put through the stress of moving when they are that young. it is a VERY bad idea to breed them. your adults are far too small, and the place you are selling them to is buying them too young. babies are very sensitive to stress, and moving them at one week will not be good for them. period.
I said he buys them off me and then waits till they get to 7 weeks and then sells them. If you guys would read page 3 I think it is you might understand it a bit bettter
Re: RE: Ovulating (?) Ovulation (?) and again, breeding a 174g female, and selling the babies at a week old is a very bad idea, the female is far too small to be bred, and moving the babies at a week old is an awful idea also, it will stress the babies out far too much, which can cause them to stop eating. babies are easily stressed. growth chart... http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Growth.html as you can see, all of those breardies weigh more than your female by the age of 6 months... you are wanting to breed a female the size of a 4/5/6 month old.
Mine is 830g at 23". He's definitely not overweight. From what I see your dragons are much, much much too small to be bred. Especially the female - she doesn't have a good set of fat pads at all. Chances are one clutch would make her lose so much weight she would be in trouble health wise.
yea, that female is waaaaay underweight for the length she should be. What are their lengths? my female, feng is only 17" and is 320grams+, sheo is 20" and 430grams+. and they are definitly not overweight.
