88-92 isn't a hard temp range to get with flexwatt either. All my setups that are using it keep temps perfectly where as my setups with UTH I still have to use a lamp or another heat source with them.

The easiest way to drill threw plexi is to use a dremel. The small bits that come with it are super sharp and with the high rpms of the dremel itself it goes threw with no problems at all. I do a lot of computer modding and learned that trick a long time ago. Also there is a way to sharpen your drill bits and get a nice sharp point on them which makes it easier to drill it too. Ill see if i can dig up the tut on how to sharpen them properly.

Heres a tut on how to sharpen your bits for better cutting, they also sell them pre made like that, not sure where to get them exactly though.

Thanks for all the advice but plexi glass is hard to come by around here from some reason and i had some pegboard in my garage so i cut a piece to fit right into the tracks for the screen top. i know it doesn't look pretty but i would rather do what i have to to keep my snakes healthy rather than have a pretty setup.

    What do you think??

I think that is a great idea if it works. I agree with you, its much more important to have a healthy animal than a pretty looking container.

Awesome, I really think that will help a bit. Specially with that front covered a bit more. Keep me updated!

it looks like a good idea, and not to rain on your party dumerillis, but that heat light on the glass will probably pop that glass... I've seen people get heat lights too close to their tanks (the glass parts - even really thick glass on big tanks) and it cracks it all over the place after a while...

I do like the pegboard though... nice thinking...

Hows the flexwatt working for ya? Is it keeping temps better than the UTH?

I am using shelving liner and it seems to work really well. Temps should be between 88-92 on the warm side and 78-82 for the cool (ambient) side. Anything lower than 75F should be considered way too low (cool side only).
