I just bought a 50lb bag of play sand from home depot and was wondering if I have to do anything to the sand, like wash it or anything else, or can I just use it right out the bag. It does look kind of moist which worried me.

    Nope, it's already washed...

I wouldn't worry about it being moist, unless it was housed outdoors wherever you bought it. If it was housed outdoors, you can bake, at least 220 degrees or so for a while.

If it was housed indoors, then I wouldn't worry, just let it dry out by itself.

What I do personally is sift it through porch screen. I usually end up throwing out about 5lb out of every 50lb bag, but it makes sure I only have the smallest grains in there.

I also do this if the sand is moist. The extra air-flow allows it to dry out quicker, and as it does dry, grains will fall through the screen.

I just finished cleaning out my beardys tank and the new playsand is in. I sifted it through a piece of porch screen after it dried out. Thanx Axe.
