My guess would be the wobble is a genetic disorder that affects the nerves that control the snake's muscles - and probably all of them, but it is not as noticable in the actions of the rest of the body. Another possbility is a biochemical imbalance.

Jacob - no shortcuts. If you will work harder, I am pretty sure we will all be behind you with encouragement. Talk to a teacher - as I suggested - and get extra help or even a tutor. You deserve it and need it to become all you want to be. And trust me, that will get you further with both parents and grandparents as well! Adn you will feel really good about yourself.
    Peace,
    Sharon

Forgot that I wanted to mention hawks. There are usually wildlife preservation groups around that specialise in raptors. Google them. As with reptiles, it is best to learn all that you can before you take on such a project - if not now, then maybe in the future. You can always look to work with someone else who is experienced. I am planning on getting back into birds of prey by working with a wildlife vet and helping with rescue. If a bird - or snake, turtle, whatever - just needs a place to hang until something heals, then I have the space, the interest, and the patience. You see, I was expected to be mature and adult by the age of 5 (one of the problems with being an only child), so I became a kid later in life and it has worked out well - I'm able to drive, have my own money and make my own decisions. Maturity, yes, grown up - never!

i kept both my boys in smaller enclosures. i tried having jack in a larger enclosure at first and he was growing very slowly so i put him in a small storage container and he really started growing fast. jb knows what she is doing and gives out great advice

Well-the kricket keeper(I think that's what she's talking about)might be too small...but prob a 5.5 or 10G would be fine and it's better that they're glass. Since, they're smaller-they're pretty common and not the much. :) I 've never had cresties though, but that's what I think. @Shanna66 just said above she kept them in storage containers, so it would prob be ok-as long as he has enough room and the conditions are right.

okay guys so yesterday my mom was askin a bunch of questions about the cage and gecko like prices ect. and she left my room with a smile so thats a really good sign :) ALSO do you guys/girls think i should get a 18x18x24 or a 18x18x18 also could i put him in the big cage with like 3-4 trays of cgd? so its easy for him to find it with out having to put him in that small torture box of a cricket keeper?

I'm pretty cure the 18x18x24 isn't any taller than the 18x18x18-just wider...and they need more height, they aren't on the ground much if I'm not mistaken-they are mainly arboreal(always climbing, up in plants and such). I have an 18x18x18 and it's nice-I think it would be fine for a crestie(I keep 2 anoles and a frog in it) and it's cheaper then the bigger one-but, the bigger one still might have an advantage, since generally the bigger-the better. What big cage do you have? That's also great that you improved your grades and your mom is most likely getting the stuff for you :)

the 24 inch is 24'' tall and 18 wide and 18 long..... so the 18x18x24 would be fine if i have like 4 lil cups of its food

Oh,that would work. In an ad in Reptiles magazine-for the Exo-Terra tanks-it listed and showed all 12 sizes they make and it was in LxHxW order-so they're tank has it widest...I'm not sure about others...I have the Zoo Med 18x18x18(the only difference is the quality and the doors in the front)

Oh goodness, you definitely don't have to put a bunch of cups of food in there, they eat very little and I found that they have a pretty good sense of smell to be able to find the CGD. So one little cap full in the cage should be fine :)

As far as keeping him in a smaller tank when you get him... little tubs are actually good for them because they feel more secure. You could get the larger tank for christmas and spend the next 2 months or so filling it up with exactly what you would like in there... and in the mean time you can keep your little guy in a kritter keeper (yes, the cricket thing) or if you want to go a cheaper route a small tub would work perfectly. It's also been noted that in the wild hatchling crested geckos stay near the base of the trees and on the forest floor until they become juvies. You can note that because of their coloration when they hatch - they look a lot like the brown decaying leaves on a forest floor :)

I just did a quick search and this is a perfect set-up for a little crestie :)

@StickyPaws312-I have the small cricket keeper-so I knew that wouldn't work, I didn't think about the big one lol-which would be fine then...Critter Keepers would be better, since they're the same thing-without tubes-and cheaper.(but, not as cheap as a plastic bin, like you said)

That's also a nice, simple setup you have--if I ever get any babies of reptiles I think I will put them in a critter keeper/plastic bin :)

Best of luck on all that you are doing, Jacob! Enjoy looking forward to your crestie and keep up your good work at school - after all, you want both your mom and your crestie to be proud of you!

I am also constantly pleased at the constant support and helpfulness of people on this board. It is a funny family of sorts - all wrapped around our little herps!

Just in case but I'm sure you already know. Since they didn't show the lid in that photo remember to put ventilation holes in. :)
