I'd go for a 50/50 mix of bed-a-beast (or equivalent) and play sand for substrate. I think that is safer than bark.

If there was no UVB for an extended length of time then you need to get the tort to a vet. There could be some damage that you may not see.
If you cannot afford to do so then please turn it over to someone who can.

    Thanks.
As far as I know there was no UBV but I am not certain.
Hes set up right now and eating great with the high humidity now his eyes aren't running.
I talked to some breeders close to me and they are comming to look at him just to make sure hes okay.
But I have him booked for a vet appt after that.
    Thanks

Glad to hear you have the tort scheduled for vet visit. ;)

Be careful with the humidity, as that can lead to a respiratory infection - but I'm sure you know that.
Are you doing daily soaks outside of tort's enclosure? That might help a bit too.

good for you rescuing a tortoise, how can someone keep a sweet little creature like that in a closet?! ugh...

you're on the right track. high humidity and warmth, with them that's good. real good. offer some fruit with dark greens like dandelion. And you're set with breeders and the vet. Good for you...good for the tort!

Okay the vet exam was good she did a fecal and he was clean for parasites. His eyes are still a bit runny but are getting better with the higher humidity.
The breeder was also helpful and help me get his home all set up so we can build his tortoise table.

Any other information would be greatly apprecaited
