respiratory infection?

    my dragon has just startrted to display a different movement.
    when he sits under his heatlamp he will open his mouth for about four seconds,when his mouth is open his throat puffs out and his tongue is forward.I cant hear any laboured breathing and he is very active and eats well.i dont think it is teritorial behaviour cos I am sitting on my bed usually and his tank is on the other side of the room.

    I'm sorry I don't know very much about water dragons, but it sounds to me like thermoregulation. Agamids such as water dragons will open their mouths and puff up to help them cool off. This isn't a cause for concern; it simply means they're too lazy to move to a cooler area. :(

    cheers! he has a hot side with a uva and uvb light and a very cool side with natural pebbles and rock caves,on hot days he moves back and forth to the hot and cool side alot,but now its getting a bit cold and he will spend most of the day basking,swimming,eating ,pooping and more basking!.thank u for replying. :)
