What time of day roughly do you tend to feed your savs? I feed mine after work so usually between 5pm-7pm. Just wonder if feeding late could cause weight issues due to not having long enough to digest before night time temp drop?

I can't speak for savvies, but I know with other diurnal lizards you are supposed to leave at least a few hours before "lights out" in order to allow them time to digest. With beardies, it's usually recommended you give them a minimum of 2 hours to digest. Generally speaking, larger animals usually have slower metabolisms than smaller ones, so you may want to allow more time than that for your monitor. (Although, having said that, I've read that savs are poop machines...) You are correct; not allowing enough time to digest before night time temperature drops could contribute to weight gain. Are you able to feed in the morning? I'd imagine that would be the most ideal thing to do, but I can understand if your schedule doesn't allow for it. Like I said, just allow a few hours to pass after feeding and you should be okay...

Yeah might try and feed in the mornings before work instead. Better to be safe than sorry!

I feed in the morning, mine will take half the day to eat it.

I feed various items on a rotating schedule,
Ground Turkey, Meal Worms, Crickets, Eggs, an occasional mouse.
He doesn't eat right away, and doesn't like to be watched..
So he takes his time sometimes
