Arrived just a few minutes ago! First thing he did when I opened the container was scramble straight up my arm. He's so tiny and soft and cute!

    Here are a few more.

I am curious though, if I should make some changes to my tank. First thing he did is zip to the top. I don't have as much foliage at the top, I though he's stay behind the leaves a little lower to hide, but he's not shy at all. He wants to be HIGH. But I've heard of floppy tail syndrome and I don't want that to happen. I have another bendy vine and set of leaves I may add to get more stuff in the upper 15% of the enclosure.

For those who haven't seen my setup.... Here it is

Personally i think the tank looks great..but if you wanted to add more maybe add some to the upper left hand side, that's the only place that seems to be bare of any foliage. The first few days i had my little one he liked to climb to the top too..but he's settled in.

And holy moses is that a good looking crestie..very nice kephy :(

    RE: Hrm

I have read that they go as high as they can when they are stressed. My guess is that he is still trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I would leave it for now, and see how he settles in. My crestie hid near the top for the first couple days, but then he found a few spot right near the middle that he now frequents most often. And again, he is soooo beautiful! I love the second pic of him hanging upside down!

I went ahead and fixed it up. Figured if I have them, might as well use them. Now he's chilling comfortably at the very top on the cage, in the foliage instead of on the glass. :(

I am DONE. No more messing around, no more cameras, I'm leaving him alone and letting him get settled in for the rest of the day.

Thanks Jeffreh, I'm really happy with him already.

Though I really don't know yet if it's a girl or boy, I think Squee is a good name for either sex. This gecko is 4 months old. By what age do you think it will be safe to accurately guess the sex? 6 months?

If he doesn't develop hemipenal buldges by the age of 6 months and over 20 grams then you can be about 90-95% sure thats its a female. =)

I just had a funny thought. Maybe it would make more sense to call her a "she" until we know different. After all, she does look like a she, and if she doesn't develop bulbges she IS a she! So Squee is a girl until she proves otherwise. ;)

She is very active tonight. Wow. All her coloring is a lot lighter right now, too, lavendars, golds, & whites. Haven't seen her eat but she drank plenty of water off the glass after I misted the cage.

OMG. what a STUNNING harlequin/dalmation/jaw-dropping morph!!! look at those light eyes! my exo is all pimped out with leaves galore and Falon still hangs off of the screen top and basks under the light so maybe he just likes it there.
