Take her to the vets - it could be a mouth or tongue infection which will need immediate vet treatment.

I agree. Definitely need to get her to the vet. Is her jaw soft, pliable? That's usually an indicator of Metabolic Bone Disease. Swelling can also occur with MBD. If the inside of her mouth is red and shows any signs of puss or white/yellow nodules, then it could be an infection. Either case requires immediate vet attention.

No problem - did the vet say that the rubber jaw is a pointer of MBD and that is why you have been given calcium?? Good luck with the blood test results - I hope all goes well for you :D

That's what I was talking about with the jaw being soft or pliable. $105 is outrageous! I'm glad my vet doesn't cost that much. It must be the area....and they're specialists in exotics. Crazy. But what really matters most is that you can treat him now before it got worse and led to paralysis and seizures. Our rescue didn't even shows signs of MBD until we saw one day that his back legs were paralyzed and then everything else just kind of came flying at us within the next 24 hours. It was scary. So I'm glad you caught it in time.
Are supplementing his diet with a calcium powder? Does he have a UVA/UVB light source? Right now, it would be a good idea to lengthen the time the UV light is on to about 15 hours a day. The UV will help him metabolize calcium and vitamin D3 faster and more efficiently. Good luck!

Also, you might consider paying out for an MVB bulb instead of a UVB tube - they are far superior but are more expensive. The levels of UVB they give out can only provide massive benefit to your iggy.

I hope it all goes well for you both and please, if you can, post us some pics :D
