    HEY NEW TO THIS ....MY IGGY I JUST GOT HER ABOUT A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND WHEN SHE BASKS SHE STICKS HER TONGUE OUT BUT IT DOESNT GO BACK IN IT JUST STAYS OUT WHAT IS SHE DOING?

    Is it out when she basks only, or is it sticking out all the time? If it's just when she basks, then it could be that she's overheating a little. They will gape some when they are hot. What are the temps inside the cage?

    THANKS FOR THE REPLY....SHE ONLY DOES IT WHEN SHE IS BASKING AND UNDER THE HEAT LAMP ITS PROBABLY AROUND 80 F

    That's pretty low for a basking lamp. Are you sure of the temps? How far away is the lamp from her basking platform?

    ITS ABOUT I SAY 7-7 INCHS BETWEEN THE LAMP AND HER

    I would double check the temps with a digital thermometer. A lamp that close, unless an extremely low watt bulb, would most likely be warmer than 80 degrees.
