a tall viv is required, mine is in a 70G tall and loves it, have seen them in 30-40G but that always seems too small to me
i have a red bulb in there all day gets to about 88-90
i also have a heat mat on the side of th eglass for nighttime warming!
i feed mine mainly locusts but with occasional crickets, roaches and super worms, about 10 food items a week for my fully grown, more when a baby

they are a very cool reptile
can be slightly grumpy, and bite sometimes
but getting a young one and taming it will help this
they can jump3-4 feet, have a very fierce and fast strike
they are quite vocal, letting out barks when worried or open their mouths at you, and th emales do a wicked mating call that is where they got the name

also, some one on here has a great signature, which says they were known, by american GIs in th efar east, as the "f---k you gecko"

i wouldnt buy if you wnat to do alot of handling, they are more of a visual specimen.

    hope this helps

well you see i already have 2 leos and a fan toed gecko and want another gecko (falling in love with em) and heard that tokays are quiet easy to keep as for handling im not to fussed about. would they be alrite when clean out the tank or puting new stuff in it or would they have to be contained

mine is fine when im messing about in th ecage, if the spray accidentally gets him he may bark at me or show me his mouth
    thats about it

i would buy some thick gloves though

i can pull mine off the wall easily if he needs to come out for any reason
