The only reason you would keep a male and a female together in the same cage is for breeding purposes, but even then you only leave the male in with the female for a little time. You would have to keep the male and female separate. You could keep 2.0.0 anoles in the same cage, but you'd have to watch closely to make sure they both eat the same amount of food.
I kept 2 female anoles in the same cage and they got along well. If you want to keep them together you would want to get a female the same size. The bigger one could bully the smaller one and not let it eat.
Midgetmunky, your male anole is sick, so don't stress it out by getting a new one. Deal with this one. If you lose him, sanitize the enclosure before introducing a new critter.
