Thought I might add to this fine section: This was our freind "Low Rider". He was a long-haired daschund and lived to the old age of 16. Freindliest dog I ever knew. Great with children - very tolerant (unusual for this breed, I understand) This was his "mouse-buddy" "Scratchy" - a ferret. He started out kinda mean but turned very freindly as well. He lived to be 7. Cancer got them both in the end. Rider late this winter and Scratchy a few years ago.
