how can you tell the difference between the water dragons and more specifically between the cwd and awd? thanks
Pretty easy to tell the differences between water dragons when compareing AWD and CWD. The AWD will alwsy be a lighter color then the CWD. Most AWDs have a tan khaki kinda color to them that can range into the greys. CWDs have a green color to them that can range from power blue/green to a drab olive color on top of the back. If you do a search for either of these under the image section of altavista.com you can find different visual examples. They are rather easy to tell aprt once you have a good visual example of what a specimen from each species looks like. The small hathlings look the most similar but the color differences are still there.
The females have low crests and pale noses. The Difference between cwd and awd is only there color basically.
Hi, here are some comparision photos I have linked from pethobbyist.com (awesoem site) Here is a Chinese Water Dragon, notice the green color and shape ...and here is a pair of Aussie Water Dragons, notice the slightly different build and lighter coloring.. hope these help
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-8/816180/monty.JPG i couldn't the picture to post, but there is a link to the dragon in question. so he would be considered a chinese water dragon? he was a few days away from a shed, that's why he's kinda dark, but from those other pictures he seems to have similar eye stripe and body stripes.
