My boyfriend will take care of my pets if im under the weather or otherwise occupied but he doesnt do things 100% to my specifications and it drives me nuts, they are just little, non threatening things, so I never say anything, and im happy he helps out.....i'm lucky to be dating a fellow herp lover, my last boyfriend was afraid of lizards and screamed like a little girl when my emerald swift jumped on him...needless to say we didnt last long....

Which yearr and what med school is your GF going to? Does she know what she wants to specialize in or which residency program she wants to go to?
She's got a lot of tough years ahead of her! You have to be really supportive! I know, I'm married to one and it's no picnic!

As a resident, he was soo busy that my friends called him my phantom husband and some didn't even believe he existed. When I went to the hospital to deliver our son, one of the anesthesiologist who worked with my husband actually asked him when did he find time to make a baby! LOL Then the ever dedicated husband proceeded to check on all his patients while I was in labor!!

 

I finished high school last year And are now studying Nature Conservation and working at a herp petshop. I also make money out of breeding reptiles privately

I have a friend in her last year of vet school and is close to burnout already. That really can take its toll on the spouse, so support is not easy, though it is desperately needed. He is lucky to have you.

Spot, she's in her third year right now. Albert Einstein med school, down in the Bronx.
Right now she's all but positive she wants to do reproductive endocrinology. Or at least something in the ob-gyn field. She's doing that rotation now and really loves it. Seems to be her favorite so far. She also liked surgery alot, but the hours wouldn't fit real well with the life she wants.
Yeah, it'll be some rough years to come, but at least we'll be in the same city and living together, so it'll be better than right now. And I feel she's worth the sacrifices.

I design refueling trucks for airports, its OK and pays decent but i am dying to open up a pet store, but i'm to afraid to take the leap

Thats awesome. I'm in my junior year of college right now graduating with a bachelors in electronic engineering. At the moment I'm doing my required Co-Op at a major manufacturing/testing company.

But other than that I have worked at PetCo for a number of years to make some "spending" money.... AKA buying my pay checks worth in animals, supplies, food, cages, etc... lol

I just added to my collection with another little baby Crested... He/she is so adorable! (too young to really tell). Pics up soon!! :wink:

I’m a Court Transcriptions (try to write down everything that gets said on Judge Judy, word for word, in the exact order it gets said. This will give you an idea of my job. But as I get paid a dollar a page, averaging 15-20 page hour depending on what I‘m typing. I only work for three or four hours a day but since my only living costs are a $200 dollar a month car payment and the $600 annual insurance payment I figure I’m doing okay. (I live at home and won’t be attending collage until spring)

I also baby and pet sit, make and sell puppets, and am hoping to start my own reptile store here in mid Michigan. (hopefully similar to Prehistoric Pets but without the store pet water monitor)

Jade, have you been to Prehistoric Pets? When you do become a shop owner, I sincerely hope you'll care for the herps better than PP does!
My beardie breeder doesn't even want me buying crickets there because of fear of contaminants.

I am a hotel revenue manager. It's a pretty fun job. The hospitality industry rocks.

NO I haven't been to PP personally but I was talking about the look of the place. I'm doing my kinda between that and Rainforest Cafe. But I WILL make sure all my animals are VERY well taken care of. (I know very well how badly a lot of herps treated and I will not be one of them.Jadelizard

Great! PP's ideas are great and I believe the proprieters have good intentions. It's just they hav Sooo many animals and not enough knowledgeable help that they are overwhelmed and the animals are paying.
But a combo idea with a rainforest cafe type thing wld be sooo cool!!!

Rock picking just sounds silly to me no offense. LOL!

 

I'm a project engineer for a general contractor here in Tampa, Florida. However i didn't actually spend too much on getting my reptiles....they were pretty cheap since one i got from a lady at work who's grandson couldn't care for it (saharan uromastyx) and the other three (leopard geckos) i got from a buddy who was getting a new beardie and planning to breed it so he just needed the room. But hopefully i'll get a raise in pay soon to better support my habit of getting reptile friends!!

 

I'm a senior at High School. Between caring for all my many pets and the Honors courses I'm taking, I don't have enough time to get a job.
