This might be a dumb question, but do you have a UV light for her? If so what bulb are you using? If it's not reptisun 5.0, get one. Are you giving her vitamin with D3? I use sticky tongues brand, I can't think of the companies name with the D3. Have you taken her outside for real sun? Are you dusting with calcium every feeding? How big is she? I have never used liquid before so I can't help you with that. Now your problem is finding a new vet in your area. Good luck.
I am almost postive the cricket dust has 33 percent calcium and vit D in it. I have a Uv Bulb which is equal to a 75 wat regular bulb. It says it is 7 percent and is the squiggly kind you screw into a metal cone shaped light reflector. It doesnt feel hot at all not like the black light I turn on at night so she can see. maybe its too much heat? I live in hawaii and it gets very cool at night. i have started taking her out in the sulight when I feed her. I was hoping the natral sunlight would boost her metabolism and make her want to cooperate more when I feed her. I am afraid that she has gotten dependant on me hand feding her altho she fights me alot and has a really strong grip. Oh if i were to suplement her with seperate Vitamin D where would I get it? The pet stores out here suck big time. I use the vitaminpowder every feeding when I mix it in with her baby food.
Some vitamin powders have D3. It will say that right on the label. If it was too warm she would probably move away from the light. I use the exoterra moon glow light at night 50 watts. Herbie seems to like it. He usually moves over to that side to sleep at night under the moon light. The sunlight should really help. I don't think that you need the D3 if you are regularly taking her outside. They can OD on D3. It sounds like you're doing everything you can. Keep it up.
Oh yeah, you should not have to give vitamins every feeding, just plain calcium. Give vitamins once a week.
nutrobal is what you need. just sprinkle on the crickets 3 times a week. make sue she has a balanced diet and make sure she has ample UV. UVA. atimulates growth and UVA stimulates feeding behaviour. UV is essential for synthesising d3 for healthy bone growth.
What is the diffrence betwween Uva and Uvb? I have a Uv-b bulb. Where can I get Nutrobal? Thanks much D
