how about pyra, like a feminine pyro? Chantico/Chantica (Aztec goddess), Hydra (Greek demon), Pandora... I've got plenty of random ideas let me know if you need more.

I named my corn Motega, which is the name of an ancient Anasazi Indian chief. I figure the snakes are native americans too.

So I've been thinking about this for a while and have decided Mr. Slithers definitely needs a first name. At first nothing really popped out at me, but after much research I found some cool deities that I've narrowed it down to:

Ikto/Iktomi - (Native American spider trickster god of war)
Kapoonis - (N.A. thunder god, trouble maker)
Nukatem - (N.A. spirits that inhabit natural objects)
Issitoq - (N.A. god of surveillance & stern warning)
    Wendego/Wetiko - (N.A. demon)
Odzihozo - (N.A. legless god of bulldozing, Earth-moving, & creative geography)
Moko - (half man/lizard guardian spirit of Pacific Islands)

    Any opinions or other suggestions?

    Here we go...

Ikto/Iktomi - (Native American spider trickster god of war) -- Naw. Spider? What short form? Ikky? lol

Kapoonis - (N.A. thunder god, trouble maker) ; Kewl, but thunder is loud..snakey is quiet. Plus short form, KaPoo? lol

Nukatem - (N.A. spirits that inhabit natural objects) ; Nice. Snakes love to 'inhabit' objects. Short form? Nuke is cool...Nuker...Nuki (as in nooky), Nuka, So it works.

Issitoq - (N.A. god of surveillance & stern warning) ; Reasonable meaning. Short form? Issy? Full name doesn't really Roll.

Wendego/Wetiko - (N.A. demon) ; Demon? Sssso Nasty. lol. Lot's of cool shorties. Just the Demo thing.

Odzihozo - (N.A. legless god of bulldozing, Earth-moving, & creative geography) ; Not even going here... hee hee.

Moko - (half man/lizard guardian spirit of Pacific Islands) ; Nice name, has some good shorties.. BUT Pacific Islands... not really our territory. Atlantic coastal snake more than anything.

    So, for me

    1. Nukatem
    2. Wendego
    3. Moko (cause of the roll, but the locationg things stops me to #1 or 2)

yeah it's hard to pick names...i like Irish names too. i named my hypo, "Aidan".
although i just named my anery "Guinness". i didnt know what to name him, i was drinking a bottle of Guinness and i said to him "so what am i going to call you?" and he tried to wrap himself around the bottle of guinness and he seemed to be reading the label on the bottle. not really! snakes cant read! but i thought it was kinda funny how he was working so hard to get to the bottle. so i named him Guinness.
