Would I need an additional heating source if my room temperature can vary between 67 and 72 degrees for a whites tree frog??

That depends on your tank size. I use a 50watt nighttime bulb and a small UTH for a 25gallon tall. To the best of my knowledge a tempeature gradient from 76°-85° is most desirable for whites.

how tall is it? if its the standard 48 x 12½ x 21 you could use a 75wat in the warm side and provide lots of shade in that part of the tank aswell this give the forg the option of how warm s/he wants to be

Yeah it is a standard.... but right now I am taking temps from light bulbs and everyone says all these high watts of power and right now from 10in the 25 watt bulb is at 83 degrees in a 65 degree room and that still gets me to think that if people are really checking temps carefully

Well for the last 40min I have had a 75watt Redspot 10in from the ground on a prob its at 83.8 right now and I dont think it will go much higher then that... in a 69.8F room with no doors or windows open as soon as I open the door to the hall and allow air circulation the temp will drop again... So I really dont know hows yours can be so high

well I opened the door to my room the light is 10.5in from the prob with a 75watt (spot) bulb and now it reads 80.8 because of the airflow the indoor temp is 69.6... I would go with the 60 because they can allways go to the cool side... if you do nitice them spending most of the time under the light I would bump it up a bit and if you find the frog most times in the cool side then lower the temp.. good luck post pics of your frog if you can I would love to see
