I was watching animal planet, and at this zoo, they give all their snakes a wormer shot and something else on a regular schedule. Should this be done with pets? Is there another form of wormer other than injections?
I believe it's called shotgunning and I wouldn't do it unless I got a wild caught snake for some odd reason. I can imagine in a zoo there is a lot more exposure to parasites between animals, people, etc. so it may be necessary but with personal pets and proper husbandry it's probably not necessary.
