i think that would be fine for an adult bp, if you get a baby you should start with a smaller tank so he/she feels more secure. also do some research on what kind of tank to house him in. glass tanks with screen lids are very hard to keep humididty up and a 4ft one can be a pain to clean too.
hehe..wishful thinking my friend. In the last 3 days, I've had to clean poop once, and urates twice. And they've not been small urine puddles either..probably had to replace 1/4 of my tanks substrate! Remember, every month or so you need to give the cage a total clean-over (ie..remove ALL the substrate and give the cage a good wash with whatever disinfectant you're using). The bigger the tank, the harder it gets. Especially if you want/need to drag it to the tub to wash it.
skunky, you clean your tank in the tub? i just empty mine, give it a hearty wipe with the bleach solution, a wipe with clean water, dry it, then put in the new susbstrate and everything.
Re: RE: woulda python be able to live in thype of tank? then you need to clean it every time he goes on it, thats why i swtched to reptibark BTW if you use bleach, healthy habitat, or nolvasan, then you don't need to move the tank
RE: Re: RE: woulda python be able to live in thype of tank? columbian, I use carpet. I just got three pieces cut to fit the size of my tank. When one piece of carpet gets dirty, I just take it out, wipe out the tank and replace the carpet. I use carpet with all my snakes so once a week I just do a load of carpet in the washing machine.
RE: Re: RE: woulda python be able to live in thype of tank? That would be a good size for a Ball Python. I use aspen for substrate.
