    Hi Yeller,
Haven't talked to you for a while. Your poor beardie has had that nasty fungus for a long time huh? I can't answer your questions, just wanted to wish you and your beardie well. Did you read Cheri's article about the fungus in "knowledgebase"? I'm sure your vet would be interested in it too.
    Good Luck..
    Christy

Itraconazole is not one I know about personally, some refererence from the manufactor I checked say 5mg per kg of body weight, so you have to convert that to the weight of the dragon.

Itraconazole should be effective in not only dragons with the candida form of the fungus but also with aspergillus and coccidiodomycosis which has also been found in dragons with the "yellow fungus".

This is one thing we are very sure of, there is not just one type "yellow fungus" there are several, but they seem to respond to the same meds.

It works by binding to the fungal enzymes and stops the cells making ergosterol, the main component of the cell wall. It also states the drug may continue for up to 4 weeks AFTER treatment is stopped and in the nails for up to a year.

I wish Buddy the best and I am so happy that you found what it is and are treating it, people over on ReptileRap.com was asking about him so I also posted there
