http://www.zoomed.com/html/forest_furniture_moss.php i bought one pretty cool heh? i am using mine as a humid hide... you can also use it as a normal hide and a egg laying box.
Those are great... i have one for my eldest leo and he stays in it all the time lol its also a humid hide...
I normally wouldnt buy one because can easily and cheaply make a humid hide or egg nest box but I saw them on clearence and got one to use as a egg nest box.
Wait, so it has 3 different compartments? Or is it just one cave that can be used for 3 different things (how??)?
it can be used as a normal hide by not putting any sphagnum moss in it... there is a retractable lid that allows you to put moss in it and check the eggs...
My 2 Leos love theirs. They shed every two weeks and since they've had the repti-shelters they seem to have an easier time. One thing tho... the moss needs to be checked often so mold doesn't form.
1. How often would you check on the moss? 2. Which size would be best for a leo? As with the rest of the hides, they come in S, M, L. I'm going to buy one of these + another hide but don't know how big a small or medium is.
medium is perfect for all leos unless u have a giant then i would go with large. i have a medium myself.
I have one for my girl and she loves it. Sepand, like was mentioned, you want a medium or a large. A small is just TOO small.
Re: RE: zoo-med 3 in 1 repti-shelter I take off the top and look at it when I add moisture every few days but every two weeks I take the hide out and remove the moss and rinse it under running water... this cleans the moss and also gets it nice and moist when you wring out the excess water. The medium size is what I have for both of mine.
RE: Re: RE: zoo-med 3 in 1 repti-shelter Running it under water is not a sufficient way of cleaning it. It can still contain a lot of bacteria. You can boil it or microwave it to kill anything on it.
